Owner and artist Steve Gibbs wants to bring a high-quality art to Coeur d’Alene's resort patrons and locals, alike. Every month, the gallery is repainted and the featured art is changed. The variety in the gallery represents the variety in the creativity of the different esteemed artists in the region. The gallery also hosts the Clay Invitational in the spring and the Small Artworks Invitational in December.

Palouse may be small, but it is a town of epicurean leanings. The bistro, run by Nelson and Pamela Duran, is connected to the Bank Left Gallery, which showcases regional art and crafts, including monthly featured artist receptions. The Bistro, too, is a tribute to art and culture: the dining room features paintings and sculpture, French music on the speakers, fresh roses on every table, oversized accent chairs and loveseats, and ethnic cuisine. The lunch menu is primarily French-inspired, while dinner spans the globe. Last weekend, Egyptian. Next weekend, Thai. (Anna Vodicka, 11/10)

It looks and feels like an indoor, European market, sometimes bustling, other times timeless and peaceful. The cafe inside is the ideal place for a little nibble in between shopping the Bridge. Or check out the new gallery which overlooks the hubbub. Owner Shery Meekings was poised to open a printing business when artist Stephen Padgett approached her about the bridge location, which another artist, Dan Earle, had previously used to organize informal ArtWalk showings. With its abundant light and rustic-but-warm log interior, Meekings instantly saw the potential. This is one of the nicest places in town.
